![]() In less than a week, the Invid seized control of the planet and began utilizing the human population for slave labour and scientific experiments. The United Earth Forces (including the elite Army of the Southern Cross) had been severely weakened by the Second Robotech War and were only able to offer limited resistance. In 2031, the Invid, under the control of the Regis, invaded Earth. In June 2030, the final battle of the Second Robotech War caused a release of the spores of the Invid flower of life across Earth, which soon attracted the Invid. The mission soon became preoccupied with the liberation of worlds under the control of the Invid Regent. The expedition was led by Lisa Hayes aboard the SDF-3, which was launched in 2022 in search of the Robotech Masters. It took place concurrently with the 2nd and 3rd Robotech wars. The Pioneer Expedition was a mission to confront alien forces in space to prevent interplanetary war on Earth. Edwards, who was first introduced in Comico's Robotech: The Graphic Novel. The story also introduces a human adversary in the form of T. Emil Lang, a supporting character in the Macross Saga, would return as a main character. Among the newly created characters were young cadet rivals Jack Baker and Karen Penn, whose early love-hate relationship mirrored Rick and Lisa's Vince Grant, brother of Claudia Grant, and father of Bowie Grant and the Invid Regent, the villainous leader of the Invid. The significant events in the film include Lin Minmei making peace with Admiral Lisa Hayes well enough to sing at her wedding to Major General Rick Hunte and the Invid's brutal invasion of the Robotech Masters homeworld of Tirol.īeing a sequel/spinoff to the combined series, The Sentinels featured characters from all three Robotech sagas, including Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes (later Lisa Hayes-Hunter), Max Sterling, Miriya Parina Sterling, Exedore and Breetai from The Macross Saga, Dana Sterling, Bowie Grant, and a couple of their superiors from Masters, in addition to Jonathan Wolff and the Invid Regis of The New Generation ( Scott Bernard was also planned, though never appeared in the confines of the feature). The title refers to the Sentinels, an alien resistance movement encountered by the Robotech Expeditionary Force (REF) that consists of races subjugated by the Robotech Masters or the Invid. It introduces the SDF-3, along with its crew, and gives an overview of their new mission. The feature-length pilot is composed of the first three (and only) episodes that were produced for the series. Besides even with the protoculture matrix, there is still “replicant fading” to deal with, and Robotech Master technology didn’t support instantaneous space folding for the SDF (which was the top of the line ship at that point, but it sure was ugly) so I can imagine that replication was unavailable to the Zentraedi, by lack of knowledge or deliberate withholding.See also: Robotech (TV series) § Production history Actually Breetai kinda proves they are exact same people otherwise why not fix his peripheral vision, they are soldiers and that is actually a very important element to being a full functional soldier. Oh, and Breetai got his scar from a Invid shock troop under Dolza’s command while trying to save Zor and the SDF, again at about a couple hundred years ago. The next oldest Dolza was WITH Zor when he sent the SDF to earth, the couple hundred years before it hit Macross Island. I think Exedore was the oldest (one of the first full sized Zentraedi, but was never a soldier (he was deemed a failure to Masters, I can only imagine that he was a laborer on Phantoma. Supreme Commander Leonard is an Agent of the Robotech Masters.Įxedore, Breetai and Dolza are notably old. I really can’t see the Zentraedi being any different. Medical technology though could extend the life.Īs for Exedore and Breetai’s ages: People also age differently. In a society of clones such genes might have been weeded out. If anything those with a genetic pre-disposition to long-lifespans might exist, but they would not be the norm. I can see it modified for a variety of health factors, but not increased lifespan. ![]() I just can’t see the Zentraedi genome modified for longevity. Mentally they might have “pre-formatted” knowledge blocks they download, and that combined with their experiences develops their personality. Given the resizing process they could grow a new clone body to adult hood quickly. ![]() I would think it would be less than normal humans.įirst you have them grown to adult hood, so they have lost 18-20yrs (minimum) already. Micronised Zents possibly aged the same as normal humans do, maybe with an extra bonus of living up to speculative 100 yrs of age (due to Zents modified genes). However, post Rain of Death marked a new era for Zentraedi.
